CLIENT: AUSTRALIAN BALLET
VENUE: SOFITEL MELBOURNE
THEME: FRENCH / ROMAN THEME
We were thrilled to be involved with The Australian Ballet recent fundraiser L’événement, working with Audio Visual Dynamics to transform the Grand Ballroom Sofitel Melbourne on Collins into a Parisian streetscape, were guest were made to feel they were walking down an typical street in Paris, specific custom made backdrops were made to portray shop front such as flower shops, patisseries’, cafes. Guest dined in the stunning recreation of the famous Maxim’s restaurant. The after party was an elaborate surprise Spartan Roman theme to promote their premiere of ‘Spartacus’, where the decadence of the era was obvious with our roman columns, statues, and large gold pot decor.
This event won the Victorian State award for the Best Corporate Event, and was a National finalist in the MEA Awards.
There’s simply no way to describe what a success Saturday night was. The theming was sublime in every way. And the attention to detail extraordinary. The street scene blew people away as they came up the escalator – not only the backdrops but the 3D effect of the flowers, tables, car etc. So beautifully done – which made it challenging to get everyone inside!
And the room was incredible. So rich, so opulent, and so beautifully lit. The raised seating was a triumph! The guests up there felt very special. All the tables and flowers looked sensational
The surprise Spartacus theme worked magnificently – OMG. That room was absolutely amazing.
